Preppy look by the harbour side.

So today I was attending a preparation meeting with my supervisor for planning my dissertation for my third year in Computer Games Production. I wanted to have a smart casual look about me to be taken seriously without losing a slight girlie twist so I pieced together what is starting to feel like one of my favourite outfits.

Cardigan - Mango
Floral flippy shorts/culottes - Topshop
Black vest - Topshop
Tights - Primark
Shoes - River Island
Scarf - Primark
Satchel bag - Primark
Bracelets - Topshop

This outfit felt great for the approaching autumn season, the clothes were all fairly light weight preventing me from getting too hot but was enough to shelter me from colder breezes.

Made In Chelsea Louise Thompson Casual Everyday Makeup And Fashion Tutorial

Hi everyone, I've uploaded another video tutorial on YouTube, this time for Louise Thompson from Made in Chelsea. Even if you don't watch/like the show, this is a really quick and easy makeup tutorial which would suit any occasion so I'd recommend it! :)
I also show where to buy a couple of the tops I've seen her wear throughout the show.
Hope it's helpful to some of you! :)

A change of style, darker blonde, with L'oreal Paris New Balm Excellence Cream in Shade 7 Natural Dark Blonde

I had been unhappy with my hair colour for a while. I'd only maintained the blonde colours I had because of the colour of my hair extensions which I did not want to have to start dying also. But as my hair has grown a little bit, I finally decided to go with it and change my hair to it's natural colour.
I was pleasantly surprised how well this turned out! This hair dye created highlights that I couldn't see in my hair before, added shine and generally made my hair feel healthier.
I had never used L'oreal Paris hair dye before, usually Garnier and Nice'n'Easy by Clairol, so I didn't really know what to expect but my hair has definitely coped better with this brand than the others.
I went from a bleached and dyed lighter blonde, so this really does cover up that colour well. I am expecting it to fade a bit as time goes on, just because they tend to, but I'd really recommend this product for anyone looking to return to a natural dark blonde!

I am wearing a Topshop Mustard Peter Pan Collared Blouse and Topshop Bracelets.

Bristol Industrial Museum.

This museum has changed so much since I last visited it as a child! The new layout is very modernised and flashy, although I somewhat prefer the layout, I was slightly gutted to find some of my favourite features had been removed. One of which was a jet which I remember climbing inside of (Not flying it obviously!) and pretending to be a pilot. On the plus side, the double decker bus was still there, so I felt the need to get some snaps, just for nostalgic needs, y'know?

Alongside this, there was a meal table introduced to the museum... I got rather ecstatic about the fact they were not glued to the table so I grabbed another snap with some plastic strawberries. (Mmmmm plastic tastes so good!!)

What I was wearing that day:
Navy Blazer - Urban Outfitters.
Black and White Crop Aztec Jumper - Urban Outfitters.
Navy Hotpants - Topshop
Navy Shoes - Topshop
Bag - Plymouth Argyle Football Club
Bracelets - Topshop.

My love for shell blouses!

So today I felt the need to share a few of my favourite garments with you! One thing I have adored in fashion recently are shell blouses, also known as woven front vests (If you shop in Topshop!).

So what is it I love about this style? Sleeveless or long sleeved, I find the high neck style within these tops most flattering, especially for those with more of a bust. The neck is framed so well, extending its length and I often find these tops can hang loosely from the shoulders.

Here are some examples of shell blouses I own.

New Look - Black and White Polkadot Button Back Shell Blouse.

Topshop - Apricot Waterfall / Hanky Hem Vest Blouse.

Topshop - Black Woven Front Vest.

Topshop - Aubergine Woven Front Vest.

Urban Outfitters Sparkle + Fade - Nude Button Front Shell Blouse.

New Look - Blue Swallow Floral Button Back Blouse.

The great thing about these tops is they can also suit a variety of occasions! Wear them casual in the day with jeans and match them with skirts and heels in the evening for nights out.

I also find these very flattering for petites due to the slimming effect they offer, making us appear taller.

What To Wear Them With?

It's great to piece these with panelled skirts and blazers for a smart casual look in the evenings!

Topshop Navy Bodycon Skirt. -  H&M Black Cropped Blazer.

Just How Well Do These Work For Petites?

Wearing the woven front vest loosely out for a sophisticated look.

Black Cropped Blazer - H&M
Aubergine Woven Front Vest Blouse - Topshop
Black Panelled Bodycon Skirt - Primark
Burgundy Heels - M&S

You could tuck the woven front vest blouse in with a skirt and waist belt for a night out.

Black Studded Waist Belt - H&M

Waterfall vests are a very flattering way to alter the perception of your height, they can also frame your hips nicely!

Apricot Waterfall/Hanky Hem Vest Blouse - Topshop
Black Panelled Bodycon Skirt - Primark
Burgundy Heels - M&S
Gold Bracelets - Topshop

The material for this top is lovely and hangs so comfortably from the shoulders!

If you change your mind and want a more slimmed out look for clubbing, tuck this blouse in with a waist belt and skirt, this can also look great for celebratory events and meals!

Black Studded Waist Belt - H&M

Polkadots can add some depth to this look and a cute side too!

Black Cropped Blazer - H&M
Black & White Polkadot Button Back Shell Blouse - New Look.
Black Panelled Bodycon Skirt - Primark

This look is great for pub nights and maybe for some smaller bars and clubs for a catch up with friends!

Burgundy Heels - M&S

Bring out some royal blue colours with this smart casual look. Again great for pubs and bars, no reason this can't be worn to a club either!

Blue Swallow Print Floral Button Back Blouse - New Look
Navy Panelled Bodycon Skirt - Topshop
Gold Bracelets - Topshop
Burgundy Heels - M&S

This top has a slightly cropped length to it, making it great for petite wearing!

So that's the reason I love these shell blouses so! They can be turned into multiple outfits and can be worn in many ways. Adding skirts to an outfit can be a great way to pull off any of those tops we dread wearing for being too long on us as they can simply be tucked in and nobody has to know!

Hope this has been a fun read for you all!

Florence + The Machine - Spectrum Make Up Tutorial

For the Spectrum music video by Florence + The Machine I have made a make up tutorial to recreate the bold blue eyes. This look looks great for making statements on nights out and can go with most clothes! In the tutorial I am wearing a cream lace scallop hem crop top from H&M as it reminds me slightly of the clothes Florence wore in the video.

I hope you enjoy this tutorial! :)

Michelle Dockery/Lady Mary Crawley Downton Abbey Hair, Make Up and Fashion Tutorial

This is my second YouTube make up, fashion and hair tutorial, this time focussing on Michelle Dockery and her role as Lady Mary Crawley in Downton Abbey. This was a video request for my friend Baylea! The first part of the video focusses on Michelle Dockery's casual day look with gold hoop earrings from Primark and a speckle mauve coloured petite jumper from Topshop.

The second half of the tutorial focusses on the character, Lady Mary Crawley, played by Michelle Dockery on Downton Abbey. Here I am wearing a black lace dress from H&M and a necklace from Warehouse. This part of the tutorial mostly focusses on the hairstyle, a simplified version.

Hope you can all enjoy this video!

Lana Del Rey Born To Die Hair, Make up and Fashion Tutorial

I have a Lana Del Rey Born To Die make up, fashion and hair tutorial up on YouTube now! Here I discuss recommended clothing, make up products to use and how to apply them and tips with hair.

This was my first ever video tutorial, so I apologise for any issues with it, I hope it can help people out there though! :)

Summer drinks in my Topshop petite contrast trim lace top.

Finally, the sun has made its visits in the UK, so I was able to enjoy unlimited refills in my newest Topshop purchase, the Petite Contrast Trim Lace Top.

This top is currently in stores at the moment, available in Petite, Regular and Tall. I absolutely adored it when I came across it, currently selling for £26.00, I managed to get my student discount on this as well making it reasonably priced for a Topshop item!

This top is very comfortable and a great length, the collar combined with the high neck front vest effect is very flattering to figures offering shape. I purchased this in a size 4 petite, normally I would say I am a size 6 petite, so I would recommend purchasing a size down to usual, but it really depends on how you like the fit!

I generally think this makes a great item for all year round, it has a lot of air through its holes for the summer, could look great pieced with a skirt for a night out or could be worn with jeans and a cardigan through Autumn and Winter, definitely feeling worth the money.

I thought I'd now show an image of the full outfit I was wearing for this beautiful weather!!

I had pieced this lace top with some hotpants in a darknavy colour and added some low heels, gold bangles, large sunglasses some rings and let my hair down.
I think this top would accommodate many hairstyles, in particular a quiff or hair bun, which I will experiment with!
Top: Topshop  £26

Sunglasses: H&M  $1
